Who we are
Llorenç Muñoz is the creative force behind Maykao, the one driving ideas and new concepts. A chef and entrepreneur with a background in hospitality and in developing his own projects. He comes from a Mediterranean family tradition in hospitality, and you can feel that learning in his cooking today. He trained in Cambrils and Barcelona, combining hotel management with high-level cuisine, with specialist stays in New York, England and Sweden. His perspective brings together technique and an eye for detail to shape Mediterranean cooking with personality, made to be enjoyed slowly.
Josetxo Ramos, a chemist by profession, fell in love with the project when he saw its human and creative potential. He is there every day with a smile and a practical mindset. He holds the operation together, coordinates the team and looks after the details so everything flows effortlessly. Together, they have made sure the concept is not only understood, but truly lived.
Behind it all is a professional, stable and approachable team, with skill and real chemistry, that makes you feel at ease from the first moment. This is how TRIBUmyk begins. A community that comes back because here the looks recognise you, the recommendations land and the conversations stretch out. Locals and passers-by, families and groups. At Maykao, the setting leads the way. There are areas to taste, to toast, to celebrate and to stay awhile. Food spaces and natural spaces moving on the same rhythm, with the sand and the sea as part of the plan. Here, you do not “look at” the beach. You are on the beach, and that changes everything.
Mont-roig del Camp is part of the story too. Because of its light and its landscape, because of this Mediterranean that does not need embellishment. It is a place tied to Joan Miró, and you can feel it in the atmosphere. Maykao could not be just anywhere. This setting shapes the day and defines the experience.
